WOW...FOX LIES is all the way on WikiLeaks side now...they are using it to defame Obama, claiming he is running a fascist government, censoring freedom of press, and calling Julian Assange a hero...Bizarro World.

@Mirjam, to my memory, most of the "kill" commands you heard toward Julian Assange came from pundits on FOX NEWS...this is a new stance as of March 24, 2011. Notice they are using it to goad President Obama, calling him fascist for censoring "media". I think it's just to put themselves in the clear once the world begins to find out what's really going on.

What I totally and completely do not understand about American politics is why Obama tries to cover up for Bush. Most of the mess (or all the mess) comes from the Bush era. Obama could have just acknowledged: yes - the administration is a mess, yes these wars were illegal etc. etc.
And than go after the perpetrators. Sentence a couple of them for creating Guantanamo, a couple for starting the war, a couple for causing the financial crisis.

As far as I can see that would do a lot less damage to his credibility than the cover ups he tries to run now.

Their narrow minded audience will soak up their opinions and will be quite happy to contradict themselves passionately.

Perhaps Fox News has a new benefactor pissing in their pockets for the demise of Obama.  You know, when Obama was standing for election and soon after I thought that he was what America and the world needs for world peace but something seems to be behind the scenes pulling the strings of that president, turned sock-puppet.

Well, Fox news has lost it's credibility, not that it had much to begin with.

@Mirjam, according to some rumors I keep hearing, that's not about to last. Obama's feints and counter feints have been paying off. He's gotten in good with the old administration, and heads will supposedly be rolling soon.

Likewise, FOX is anti-Obama. They spun the WikiLeaks thing as if it's Obama who is attempting to censor them and Julian Assange...Obama's just going with the advice from his team...they apparently are tying their own noose. Anywho...feints and counter feints...Obama is flexible, we'll see how he makes those accountable who gave him the original advice.

Personally, i will root for the Dems in the next elections. There's not much of a choice after all, is there?

I trust Obama because he's running the same strategy:
1. Work with the status quo (even tho it's not what his constituents want)
2. Hold them accountable (this is always good)
3. Listen to the people when they are loud enough (Egypt was the precedent. He will follow thru with US when our numbers are big enough)
4. Be flexible when a prior stance no longer applies (instead of being stubborn and rigid like most party presidents,  trust the people over the politicians)

I see him being himself in regards to typical Democrat policy, and likewise I see what looks like sucking up to the GOP. He became class president at Harvard by doing this, and he brought the liberals and the conservatives together because he understands how to unite as opposed to dividing.

The USA is so used to "party politics" that it seems odd to watch our president treat the right and the left as friends instead of enemies...we're Americans...people forget that in the political rhetoric that gets carelessly thrown around.

I also notice the INTENSE propaganda being tossed EVERYWHERE. I also remember...DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE.
Obama got here by the people, for the people...that doesn't just dissappear...unless you buy the hype.

I saw an interesting frontline documentary about Obama and the healthcare issue.  And you could plainly see that he was up against some big players, the biggest of which was the pharmaceutical rep.  I could see that he made the best deal possible, working with what he could.  I don't think he had any idea just how f***ed up things really are at that level.  If he's doing nothing, it's because he can't.  Elected officials come and go, but senior management never changes and they are not elected, they are appointed, and each one has 50 lobbyiests behind them.  There needs to be a very fundamental change with how politics work in all countries.  Money's great, but corporations are killing our world by sucking the life out of it with their uncontrolled greed for money and power.
