Baku-APA. A candidate to presidential election and three other protesters were arrested by the police on Tuesday for holding unauthorized demonstration in Antananarivo, Madagascar's capital, APA reports quoting Xinhua.

The candidate, Laza Razafiarison, has led a demonstration since Monday in the main market of Analakely with a thousand of demonstrators asking the holding of the election on July 24.

Businesses closed their shops in the market and the traffic was in trouble, while tear gas were launched by the armed forces, who are present massively around the market.

The chief of armed forces here Rakotomanana Florens said they took initiative to stop the demonstration by launching tear gas and arresting the leader of it because it disrupts the traffic and activities of businesses in the market.

Asking the election to be held as scheduled on July 24, Laza Razafiarison already began his propaganda though the ministry of interior already issued a communication to stop it because of postponing of electoral date.

According to explanation from the independent national election commission (CENIT), the election, initially set for July 24, was postponed sine die for the impasse between three controversial candidates and international community.

The international community urged president of transition Andry Rajoelina, former president Didier Ratsiraka and the ex-first lady Lalao Ravalomanana to withdraw from presidential race by July 31 if not, the international community will not recognize the Madagascar's election.
