Compared to how bad I have seen the left and right fight with each other in the US (ie the current demonizing  of the politicians by each other in our current election year) - these guys seemed more like good friends than opponents. I enjoyed the talk and I was glad they were able to remain lighthearted about such emotion provoking topics. It would be interesting further still to see what each side took away from the discussion that the other person said that totally reaffirmed their strong beliefs. The need for each one of us to hold on to what we believe to be true quiet frequently short circuits our ability to be open minded.  ;)

Jerbar, you wrote "these guys seemed more like good friends than opponents"
my dear, "these guys" are academicians, they can shout to each other but it's merely showing off, it's a dialectic exchange of ideas  ;D

Hi Flavia my dear :)

Well I was thinking they seemed like friends compared to left and right politicians who debate each other. Since they are academicians instead of politicians they would be able to have a more dialectic discussion. Politicians have a much greater need to create hatred between their opposing parties in order to get more of their supporters to get out and vote.
These guys don't need to create hatred in anybody, it makes for a much more pleasant exchange of ideas for sure.  ;D

Beware: A minority opinion here....

I didn't find anything either of the guests had to say enlightening, intelligent or elucidating.  And I found their manners boorish.  Julian was the only reason I kept watching.

I'm disappointed in this episode.  Loved the first one though - & still looking forward to future shows.

Just a quirky note here- I am assuming that the you tube link to episode 2 has the same exact photo still shown for everybody. That said, does anyone think that JA and Slavoj look like they are practicing kung fu or some marshal art? It catches me as funny every time I see the link- JA looks like he is busting a move- hehe-  ;D
