Urgent, stop Fracking in Northern Ireland
« on: April 09, 2014, 19:51:28 PM »
Last week it emerged that Tamboran Resources had failed to meet its commitment to drill a borehole by March 31, 2014 and that Arlene Foster, Minister of Enterprise, Trade and Investment has given a six month extension to that license.

Green MLA Steven Agnew today called on all parties to sign a petition to refer this decision. thirty signatures in support of this from MLAs would require that the decision be referred to the Northern Ireland Executive.

We only have one day to really engage with our politicians the vote is on Thursday 10th April, 2014.

We do not want Fracking, and the license has lapsed. The public did not participate in the decision to grant the first license, the 2011 vote for a moratorium did not get upheld by DETI.

Now we do not want this license extended and we need everyone involved in the antifracking campaign to contact all the NI MLAs and ask them to make a stand for N.I. A stand for our health, tourism, agriculture, environment, climate and energy democracy.
