World coalition against the death penalty - worldwide database

Navigate the list of retentionist countries below to get country-by-country information on the laws and practices associated with the application of the death penalty.
This information is taken from the Death Penalty Worldwide database, which also offers an advanced search function (capital crimes, prison conditions, appeal procedures, legal representation…) in English and in French.
This database covers the 90 States and two territories which have the death penalty. Global statistics on abolitionist countries are available from Amnesty International.
The database was created by Professor Sandra Babcock of the Center for International Human Rights at Northwestern Law School's Bluhm Legal Clinic, in partnership with the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty and with financial support from the European Union.

- Winston Churchill

Make it dark, make it grim, make it tough, but then, for the love of God, tell a joke. - Joss Whedon
