G4JAD Day of Action July 15th UK plans
« on: July 10, 2012, 21:42:20 PM »
As many of us as possible need to get to the Ecuador Embassy this Sunday, to mark the latest global day of action in support of Julian Assange.

Julian Assange entered the embassy on June 19th in order to make a plea for political asylum. Our day of action marks a whole month of residency at the embassy where he continues to reside until a decision is made.

From 10am on Sunday 15th July Friends of WikiLeaks will be outside the embassy for a day of standing in solidarity with a man who inspires hope for our collective freedoms.

It is vital we show our support. Make sure you spread the word in any way you can. From 10am onwards the UK will be not be silent: Ecuadorian Embassy in London, Flat 3B 3 Hans Crescent, London SW1X 0LS

Bring your own banners, flyers, posters etc or download from our website here: https://network23.org/ukfowl/engage-and-act/demo-kit/.
Come armed with the facts and download the fact flyer from the above site and be ready to raise some consciousness.

Hey, some ideas are coming through for some great ways we can make the Sunday event outside the embassy more lively- help will be needed:

- is someone able to bring a portable sound system (nothing too big will be needed) and a copy of the beat the blockade CD?
- anyone know how we can get some balloons printed with pictures of Julian/messages of support on them? Failing this, can people bring brightly coloured helium balloons (we can write on them with marker pens) so that we can have a collective 'freeing of Assange'?!!
- can people bring some food to share with others so we can all stay there as long as possible/have a bit of picnic vibe going on?
- those of us who feel moved to share a little speech should feel free to do so :)

organisation is loose for this event- please share ideas and come up with your own ways to get passers by to stop and engage in conversation with us- this is not just an exercise to show how many of us can fit behind the railings (!) but also to get involved in dialogue and raise some awareness......
