Witness Claims Journalist About to Break a Story on the CIA, Scared of His Own Death

Michael Hastings was killed in a fiery car accident in west Los Angeles on June 18. The award winning war correspondent drew national fame when his hard-hitting piece “The Runaway General” helped end the career of top American Army General, Gen. Stanley McChrystal.

Hastings became interested in the increasing surveillance state, especially in regards to the investigation of reporters by the US Department of Justice in 2013 when Hastings went as far as to say that the Obama administration was declaring “war” on the free press and journalism.

As new information is made known about the events surrounding the young journalist’s death, it is getting harder to reign in the suspicions as to what really happened. Hastings, who was 33 at the time of his death, was killed when his 2013 Mercedes coupe crashed into a tree and exploded before 5 am in the morning.

His last e-mail sent out to close friends stated that  he was working on a “big story” and was going “off the radar” for awhile. Despite the massive attempt at some media outlets to turn Hastings into a drug-induced paranoia attention seeker, officials have found that drugs and alcohol were not the cause of the accident.

While there is still no official cause, speculation is running rampant online as to how the accident occurred. There have been fingers pointing at the FBI, NSA and the CIA. The most common and talked about possibility is that Hasting’s car was hacked and controlled remotely. A released video showing Hastings’ car allegedly running a red light with no sign of brakes being used has been used to further support that theory.

Fanning the flames of suspicion, a new witness has stepped forward. At 12:30 in the morning, Hastings went to his good friend and neighbor’s house to borrow her car. Jordanna Thigpen told LA Weekly that Hastings believed his Mercedes had been tampered with and  ”Nothing I could say could console him.” Unfortunately, when Hastings asked to use her car, Thigpen declined saying her car was having mechanical problems.  She also went on to say, “He was scared, and he wanted to leave town.”

She received a call from her landlord the next day just after 11 am, learning how Hastings had died.  Upon hearing that his car had slammed into a palm tree and exploded into a ball of fire, Thigpen said she burst into tears.

However, according to Kimberly Dvorak, Mercedes Benz maker of Hastings’ car, she stated that their cars just do not blow up and great care is taken in order to make sure that something like that doesn’t happen. Dvorak is a National Security and Foreign Policy Correspondent who also talked about the different possibilities that may have occurred at the time of his accident.

During her interview with San Diego Six News, she also pointed out that there were no skid marks, so the car had to either malfunction or something was on the car that allowed that to trigger and blow up. She also noted that cars can be remotely controlled and referenced a report in 2010 that came out of the University of San Diego in which they used a basic car and regular iPad-type electronic device to hack into the car’s computer system.

According to Dvorak, in a separate interview, Hastings was reportedly working on a story about CIA Director John Brennan. His widow, Elise Jordan also corroborated that Hastings was working on an expose on Brennan. His story is supposed to be released later posthumously in Rolling Stones.

On the LeakSourceNews YouTube video, it states: “Last month a source provided San Diego 6 News with an alarming email hacked from super secret CIA contractor Stratfor’s President Fred Burton. The email was posted on WikiLeaks and alleged that then Obama counter-terrorism Czar Brennan, was in charge of the government’s continued crackdown or witch-hunt on investigative journalists.”

Michael Hastings also contacted a WikiLeaks lawyer just a few hours before his deadly car crash and told them that he was being investigated by the FBI.

Additionally, Dvorak confirmed what other experts have stated also, that his car was only traveling about 35 mph when it hit the tree, which goes directly against what is stated in the coroner report. Curiously, it states that he hit a fixed object going at a “high rate of speed”. Hastings’ coroner report states that he was charred, and it was later learned that dental impressions were used to identify him.

The confusion over his speed may be passed off as inconsequential except for another eyewitness report. Jose, an employee of ALSCO, a nearby business, and a witness to the accident, told KTLA/Loud Labs (Scott Lane) the car was traveling at a high rate of speed and he saw sparks coming from the car and saw it explode BEFORE hitting the tree.

While the mainstream media keeps speculating about his levels of his paranoia and drug use, others are waiting for real answers. While it is unlikely that we will ever know for sure what happened that night, there is plenty of evidence available that sheds reasonable doubt on the official story.
