"Our basic standards." So what does that mean? What are the basic standards?

Just watching The Drum on Australian ABC and they showed a snippet of an interview with Bradley Mannings father. Now that will be great to watch, hope he can get even more attention to his sons plight.
There is a certain dramatic irony attached to all this. A synchronicity that borders on predestination, one might say.

This is pathetic. If Senator Kucinich can't get a straight answer from Gates/McHugh then you have to ask what's the problem? It seems McHugh purposely avoided answering the question about who gave the orders. Subsequent to that John M McHugh cited United States Laws which prohibited him from commenting on "other aspects of his care and treatment." These laws I assume also specify the conditions  of appropriate basic standards, of which Obama assures is acceptable. If subjecting its own citizens to torture and indecency is standard US law, then I'll be very glad not to risk riling the home of the free and brave.

The very thought of torture or humiliation in any guise, such as stripping PFC Manning naked,  is unacceptable. Human rights supercede all other rights in my opinion. Without decency and respect for humanity we insult existence.  :(
