It has been a while since Hector Xavier Monsegur, otherwise know as Sabu, signed his deal and decided to turn informant for law enforcement. He was arrested on June 7, 2011 after having led his merry band of ne'er do wells on a website compromise campaign that was all for, as they called it, the "lulz".

Monsegur was one of the leaders of a hacking group who referred to themselves as "Lulzsec. This crew was best known for their multiple compromises of Sony websites as well as the take down of CIA's website.

On this past Monday, Monsegur was supposed to appear at 4 pm in front of US District Judge Hon. Loretta A. Preska in New York.

But, apparently it didn't happen as advertised. A continuance was granted yet again. I might be mistaken but, I believe that this is the 5th such delay granted. The next scheduled appearance is set for April 2, 2014 as per a post from John Young on Cryptome.

Subject: Inquiry on Hector Monsegur

Dear Mr. Weinstein and Ms. Cross,
Can you provide information for publication on the sentencing of Hector Monsegur today?
Thanks very much,

If anyone is checking with Vegas for the odds on this one I'd hazard that it's a safe bet there will be another continuance. This will most likely continue until he has outlived his usefulness and they drop him down a hole.

OK, your turn. What are your thoughts on Sabu's fate? Will he be sent to a country club prison or get a free pass and a new identity? Drop me a line in the comments section below.
