Iranian, Chinese Provinces Keen to Expand Economic Ties

TEHRAN (FNA)- Investors from China’s Gansu province and Iran's Central province of Qom voiced enthusiasm for enhancing mutual cooperation in various fields, particularly joint investments, Iran Small Industries and Industrial Parks Organization (ISIIPO) announced.

A Chinese delegation, consisting of 90 investors from industrial and agro fields, is expected to visit Iran by August 22, to discuss joint investment opportunities  the industrial parks of Qom and Salafchegan with Iranian investors and industrialists.

The ISIIPO source went on to say that the main goal of these negotiations will be expansion of the two provinces’ transactions and transfer technology to the country.

Chinese investors are to invest in establishing machinery production lines.

Qom’s industrial parks are suitable for Chinese investment, because they are located along the country’s main transportation route, the ISIIPO added.

Recently, a delegation from Qom province travelled to Gansu to identify investment opportunities in the Chinese province.

Iran and China have capacity to boost bilateral cooperation even more than the current level using new methods.

Iran is currently China's third largest supplier of crude, providing Beijing with roughly 12 percent of its total annual oil consumption.
